Prezi is an interesting tool that is a fantastic way to get the point across in a unique way. I love that the format of the presentations almost forces you to be precise and to focus on what really matters. I feel that this will be a more effective tool for me to use in my classrooms than Power Point because it is easy to try to fit all the information you can on Power Point slides. I learned that you can use Prezi to show videos, to display concepts, to demonstrate connections between concepts, and much more.
I could use Prezi to overcome the problem of BORING presentations. Prezi uses interesting effects that focus the brain on what is going on. In my opinion, too many teachers use things like Power Point in ineffective ways, when those types of tools can be used in exciting, captivating ways that really emphasize learning and appeal to the students being taught.
I could use Prezi for several class activities. One is to create web maps with my students, like having them walk me through a concept we just learned to illustrate how it connects with the bigger topic. Another way to use Prezi is to assign students to create a Prezi presentation for an assignment. I could also use Prezi as a review tool, almost like a game that links information within a unit together.
I really enjoyed making this presentation and am very glad that I learned how to do it because it is an effective way to add a bit of pizazz to my presentations in my classroom!
good work!
